Communicate
While I now live in Nashville, Tennessee, one of the first things many people say to me is “You don’t sound like you’re from Tennessee.” And they’re right. I grew up in lots of places – North Carolina, Texas, Virginia and Florida. I’m still a Southern girl at heart without sounding much like one- unless you want that and I’m happy to oblige, y’all.
Whenever someone asks what I do and I tell them “I’m a voice actor” their reaction is, “Wow, how did you get into that?” Short answer – radio in college.
Radio began for me at WRUF-FM at the University of Florida. Being a DJ was going to be cool and exciting…except I didn’t like that as much as writing, voicing and producing the commercials. That’s where I learned the art of communication and my love for voiceover began. I earned my degree in Telecommunication-Broadcasting and Operations.

Coordinate
After college I began working in video as well as audio and eventually became a TV producer. And I’ve earned 9 Telly Awards and a Regional Emmy award along the way for projects I produced. I worked on the movies Patch Adams and Galaxy Quest and spent 12 years working on a government contract for American Forces Radio and Television Service. I specialized in researching historic stock footage and photography. One of my favorite projects involved spending a week at the National Archives researching footage on World War I.
Since 2011, I’ve been working full-time at my dream job as a voice actor when I launched my company Audible Creations LLC. My voice can be heard on commercials, corporate narrations, eLearning, phone systems, political campaigns and automotive spots for clients all over the world. I’ve now added two GOLD Telly Awards to my collection – only this time for my voiceover work. These are joined by a Silver W3 Award and a Voice Arts Awards for Outstanding Political Announcement-Attack Ad.
One of the things I’m most proud of is the group I co-founded called Tennessee Voice Over Exchange (T-VOE). Over the last 8 years the meetup group has met monthly and grown to over 85 members. We’ve had the leading speakers in voice over join us virtual or in person. Nashville is becoming a hot destination for workshops from some of the best coaches in the business.
Sharing my passion for voice acting with my fellow talent illuminates my heart with joy. Mentoring fellow voice actors and speaking at conference is exciting because I love sharing my knowledge. I’ve presented at the Cooperative Communicators Association Annual Meeting, Faffcons, WoVO Cons, VOICE 2014 and VO Atlanta as the Panel Moderator and Team Lead for the eLearning and Narration Track.
In 2019, the title of Virtual Conference Producer for the VO Atlanta Conference was added to my list of producing jobs. I coordinated the Audio/Visual team for the live and virtual conference.
I’m also honored to be a part of such wonderful organizations like American Marketing Association-Nashville, Association of Talent Development-Nashville Chapter, Voxy Ladies, University of Florida Alumni Association and a Founding 500 member of World Voices Organization. Because I can’t help myself and coordination is in my DNA, I’ve been on many of the volunteer boards for some of these organizations. I’m also a former Girl Scout Leader and a past President for Families with Children from China.
